Irish Rallycross Licence requirements.
All drivers competing in the Irish Rallycross championship require a Motorsport Ireland competition licence which needs to be renewed every year in January. There is no course required for Rallycross licences but you will need a medical from your doctor every year if you are over 40 and every 2nd year if you are under 40.
There are 3 different licences used for Rallycross in Ireland.
If you are aged between 14 and 16 years of age you can compete in the Junior Rallycross Championship and you would require a junior speed licence. All junior drivers must also be signed on by an adult and that adult must have an entrant’s licence which is also issued by Motorsport Ireland.
Drivers Competing in cars up to 1600cc need a Speed National B licence or higher.
Drivers competing in cars above 1600cc must have a Speed National A licence or higher. In order to qualify for a Speed National A license you must first finish 6 Motorsport Ireland events in a car up to 1600cc and provide evidence of this before you can apply for the Speed National A.
All queries in relation to Licences should be directed at Motorsport Ireland.
